Mr Penguin and the Lost Treasure by Alex T Smith

Review by Lyndsey (3RB)

Mr Penguin is a very unusual penguin who loves solving problems. He wants to be an adventurer one day. He was in his igloo when the phone rings. That was his first adventure! But he realised that he had been tricked!

I found it very interesting and extremely exciting to read about.

I would recommend it to people who like exploring or adventuring stories.

Max Einstein: The Genius Experiment by James Patterson

Review by Matilda (4SM)

This was an extremely good book about a twelve year old girl called Max Einstein and she has no parents and lives above a horse stable. It might seem weird but she goes to college but one day these random guys come in and take her to an home for people. Her friend gets her out and she is asked to join a group of young geniuses.

I really liked the part when she figured out how to save some of Africa.

I would recommend the amazing book to people over the age of three as some of it might scare them a bit I hope you enjoy it.

Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy

Review by Alice (5ZS)

This book is about a 12 year old girl called Stephanie Edgley, who lives a normal life, until suddenly her uncle dies and leaves her his estate. After she almost gets killed, Stephanie meets Skulduggery Pleasant; a living skeleton, dead sorcerer and detective. They team up to cease evil forces.

My favourite character is Stephanie, (or Valkyrie Cain when she changes her name later) because she is strong, brave and valiant and nothing can stop her. I thoroughly enjoyed this book when I was reading it.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes horror fiction, magic, danger, and exciting adventures. Also, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the Harry Potter series and the Percy Jackson books. If you are one of those people, I would say it is an indulgent and excellent book to read!

Koku Akanbi and the Heart of Midnight by Maria Motunrayo Adebisi

Review by Esme (6JM)

When Koku is sent to Olari for the summer he has to team up with a warrior in training and a shapeshifter both hiding secrets – only one known. Koku has to save night from being destroyed forever. He is the last descendent of the Goddess of Darkness.

It is shocking you as you progress through the book with lots of unexpected surprises.
