U11 Netball v Winterfold (A)
Mrs Patching-Jones’ Team
Result: 29-10 BCS
Player of the Match: Annaliese
Mrs Patching-Jones’ team faced a strong opposition and worked hard to move the ball down the court. Sukhmani played brilliantly at centre, linking attack and defence with great composure.
We found it challenging to lose our defenders, as Winterfold defended tightly and were intercepting many of our passes, making it difficult to progress the ball down the court. However, the girls showed real determination and never gave up, even when Winterfold established a comfortable lead. Our strongest performances came in the second and fourth quarters.
There were some lovely moments of play, with effective dodging to create space and quick, accurate passing down the court into our shooters. Alice and Annaliese had a particularly tough task against some excellent shooters, but they stayed tight to their players and made numerous tips and interceptions throughout the game.
U11 Netball v Winterfold (A)
Mrs Crews’ Team
Result: 3-18 BCS
Player of the Match: Rosemarie
Mrs Crews’ team played an excellent match against Winterfold, dominating the game throughout. There was some fantastic passing down the court, with players working hard to dodge and create space before asking for the ball.
The shooters, Rosemarie and Luna, showed great accuracy throughout the game, which was particularly impressive given they have had very limited opportunity to practice so far. Defensively, everyone worked hard by staying tight to their players and making numerous tips and interceptions to win back possession.
A brilliant start to the netball term – well done to all involved!
U11 Hockey v Repton (A)Â
Result: 1-2 BCS, 0-3 BCS
The U11 boys produced an excellent standard of hockey against Repton Prep in a highly competitive and well contested fixture. With both teams securing a win, it was pleasing to see the dedication, effort and ongoing development of the boys reflected in their performances.
There was a clear understanding of structure and teamwork throughout, particularly in dead ball situations. Our set pieces were executed with confidence and purpose, resulting in a well worked goal, while defensively the boys showed good awareness of marking and positioning. Tactically, both teams demonstrated strong knowledge of where to be and what to do at restarts, highlighting the progress being made in training.
Overall, this was a very positive afternoon of hockey, showcasing not only skill and commitment but also growing tactical maturity. The boys should be proud of their performances and the way they applied their learning in a match setting.
