The Magic Faraway Tree: A New Adventure by Jacqueline Wilson – Review by Eva (3ED)
This book is about three children one day they move house and there they find a tree a magic one. The children have adventures of all sorts some fun and some dangerous but no matter what it is always a accelerating adventure.
I found this book very interesting and fun. I like it because they always go on fun and interesting adventures, it is funny and has a nice ending.
My favourite part is when they go to ride on unicorns and Mia goes on a sea unicorn. I would recommend this book to people who age 5-11 and to people who like adventure and fantasy books.
Child of the Beast by Jack Meggitt-Phillips – Review by Rosemarie (4JL)
The Beast and the Bethany, Book 4, Child of the Beast is an outstanding book! Some of the highlights of this book: 1.Bethany, the cheeky child, is going on her first date/not-a-date with the most golden boy in the orphanage, Geoffrey! 2. The beast is back to its evil instinct and Bethany and Ebenezer need to help it learn to be good! 3. Ebenezer’s 112th birthday is just round the corner. 4. Geoffrey has found a very disturbing file… 5. Mysteriously, there is a new beast in town.
What I liked: 1. The inventive sweets made by Mrs Muddle 2. where Bethany gets tangled in a dress! 3. where Geoffrey is cycling on a toddler tricycle to get away from Ebenezer 4. how horribly wrong the vomits the beast is making.Â
What I disliked: 1. The name, the beast. It’s plain and boring. Why not give it a funny name like Bob? 2. The lack of popcorn spilt in the movie. 3. Maybe add another Wintlorian purple-breast parrot.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves monsters, chaos and turtles fighting on a roof! I think that all ages would love this book, including the adults. If you read this book, the biggest surprise will be at the end, after the credits role…

Remembrance by Theresa Breslin – Review by Noah (6JM)
This book was about five children, 3 boys 2 girls, who were all affected by ‘The Great War’(WW1). The five of the children become deeply connected as the story goes on. The two boys at some point in the story join war ‘to do their country’s duty’. The girls are lonely as their brothers have gone to war so they become friends as they are in the same situation I like the fact it all connects at the end of the story. It also had true bits of history which I also liked.Â
I would 110% recommend this. Especially to anyone who loves history. I think 10 years plus should read this.
