Dotty Detective: Super Secret Agent by Clara Vulliamy – Review by Elizabeth (3ED)
This book was about a girl called Dotty and she moves to a new house and school, some of her classmates are called Laura, Amy and Beans (funny name). Weird things happened at home and shocking things happened at school (from home). McClusky (the dog) and Dotty’s picture of themself disappeared, and at school Laura said to her friends she has a plan to ruin Amy’s turn at the talent show!
I liked the part when Beans (Dotty’s friend) and Dotty find out Laura wants to sabotage Amy in the talent show, so they pretend to be Fred Fantastic – ace detective (their favourite movie) and go investigate what Laura is planning to do. I disliked that 4 pages were missing from the book!!!Â
I would recommend it to people who want to be a detective and people that have a curious mind of investigating. The age I would recommend it to is probably 7+.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll – Review by Emaan (4SM)
So, the book is all about this girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole and ends up in this crazy world called Wonderland. And let me tell you, Wonderland is like nothing you’ve ever seen before! There are talking animals, a grinning cat, a tea party with a Mad Hatter, and even a Queen who loves to shout “off with their heads!” It’s so wacky and fun!Â
What I Liked:Â Â
1.Imaginative World: I loved how Lewis Carroll created a world full of whimsy and imagination in Wonderland. It was so exciting to explore all the strange places and meet the quirky characters.
2 . Alice’s Curiosity: Alice’s curiosity and bravery were really inspiring. I admired how she wasn’t afraid to ask questions and explore new things, even in a strange and unfamiliar world.Â
3. Humour: The book was really funny! There were so many clever jokes and witty remarks that made me giggle throughout the story.Â
What I Disliked:Â
1. Lack of Plot: Sometimes it felt like the story didn’t have a clear plot or direction. It was more like a series of random adventures strung together, which made it a bit confusing at times.
 2. Abrupt Ending: The ending felt a bit abrupt and unresolved. I wished there was more closure or explanation for some of the events that happened in the story.Â
3. Lack of Character Development: Some of the characters in Wonderland felt a bit one-dimensional. I would have liked to see more depth and development, especially for characters like the Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat.Â
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves magical stories and using their imagination. It’s perfect for kids who like to go on wild adventures and meet quirky characters. And hey, even grown-ups will enjoy it too! So if you’re looking for a book that will take you on a fantastic journey, definitely give “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” a try! Overall, despite its flaws, I really enjoyed the book for its creativity, humour, and memorable characters. It’s definitely a classic that I’ll cherish for years to come!

‘Room to Dream’ is the second book in the series Front Desk. Mia has just endured a not very happy Christmas dinner but Mia has a surprise waiting for her that might just turn her Christmas around… After years of striving and toiling, Mia finally gets to return home. When I mean home I mean her hometown Beijing where she has come from. Mia is elated when she finds out she can go home to see her family with her parents and Hank once more -especially her cousin Shen and grandparents. But there have been a lot of changes since she was last in Beijing. Mia endures occasions of laughter and sadness. There are mishaps with her family and friends.

Hacker by Malorie Blackman – Review by Navya (6JW)
This book is about Vicky’s Dad being arrested for being accused of stealing one million pounds. Vicky knows that her Dad did not do this and has to try and figure out who did. This is going to take her coding skills to the limit. Meanwhile lots of things are happening at school, Vicky is now on this mission to figure out who did it.Â
I liked this book because it is action-packed and it has a twist to the story. Also I like the way they show how Vicky is doing lots of things which the others could not do to figure out who was the person who did this.Â
I would recommend this book to people who like adventure and action books as they would enjoy the book.
