Baby Aliens Got my Teacher by Pamela Butchart

Review by Nicholas (3EC)

What would you think if your teacher starts behaving strangely? Izzy thinks her teacher must have been taken over by baby aliens. If you want to know if she’s right then you should read the book. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened and I could see myself reacting exactly as Izzy did.

I really liked the imaginative story.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes funny stories and unpredictable endings.

Calling all Witches! The Girls Who Left Their Mark on the Wizarding World by Laurie Calkhoven

Review by Sofia (3ED)

This book is about the main witches in Harry Potter and what they are like. It is a book with information that you may not know. It tells you which house they are in. Are they kind and brave or mean and selfish? Its all in this book! All the magic of the witches is stored in this magnificent book, so maybe the next time you see this book you could either reserve it or get it?

I think this book is interesting and magical and it represents that you can do anything! It is a book that holds the interest not only on the first page but every page. Do you think that this is just an ordinary Harry Potter book? Well you’re wrong, this book contains every detail you could imagine!

I would recommend this book to people who like magic and also to people that have read Harry Potter because it will give them a better understanding of the witches, just like it did with me!

Kay’s Marvellous Medicine by Adam Kay

Review by Amaya (3RA)

This non-fiction book tells the history of diseases and cures in disgusting and crazy way! I loved this book because it is hilarious even though it has some gross parts. It gives a lot of knowledge in a funny way. I found it fascinating because it helped me imagine so many things from history. Here’s a smelly fact: people used to get paid for their farts! My least favourite character is the heart because it is a big show off with its muscles. My favourite character is elderly aunt Prunella because she complains about all the farting and pooing in the book in a really funny way.

I recommend this book to people of all ages. However, teachers might not like it because the Ancient Egyptians thought that brains were useless mush to be put in bins! I rate it a definite 5/5 I would give it 10/10 if I could.

Matilda by Roald Dahl

Review by Evie (3RB)

This amazing book is about a little girl called Matilda who is an unusual girl because her mind is BRILLIANT. Matilda is sent to school at the age of 5 and a half. With Miss Honey at her side and Mrs Trunchball on the attack she finds loads of adventures. Matilda is a clever girl who has tremendously mean, unloving parents so Matilda faces what looks like a very very hard life awaiting her.

I like Matilda because she is kind, gentle and resilient whatever she faces. I love the way that when you read this book it’s like you’ve fallen into it and you are adventuring around inside the new world.

This book is a classic book that I would recommend to anyone who loves adventures and reading.

The Midnight Unicorn by Alice Hemming

Review by Annaliese (4ES)

This book is fiction. In this book years ago a king was next in line for the throne but then the queen had two babies one called Allete one called Audrey the king becomes jealous and wants to kill them. He uses spies which he captured and he ends up being killed. Then a sorcerer who guided them wants the throne that’s why he guided them he gets forced far far far away from the kingdom. The sisters have the throne and with Audrey’s adoptive mother.

My favourite character is Audrey because she has good manners and learns lots of new things.

I recommend this book for people 7 years and above.
