U11 Cricket v King’s HawfordÂ

Result: 284-292 BCS win
The U11 girls played an exciting and competitive softball cricket match against King’s Hawford, coming away with a fantastic victory. King’s Hawford batted strongly and finished on an impressive 284 runs, which challenged the girls to stay focused and sharp in the field throughout the innings. The match provided an excellent opportunity to develop fielding skills, with improved backing up, communication and determination shown by the team.
Going into the final pair batting, we were still 30 runs behind and needed a big finish to secure the win. Grace and Alice rose brilliantly to the challenge, batting confidently and running aggressively between the wickets. Their outstanding partnership added a huge 37 runs, taking the team past King’s Hawford in a thrilling finish. It was a wonderful team performance with excellent resilience, encouragement and teamwork shown by all the girls.
U11 Cricket v SolihullÂ
The U11 cricket team enjoyed an excellent series of fixtures against Solihull Prep School, playing a total of five matches across the season, with four games hosted at The Blue Coat School and one away fixture at Solihull Prep School in the first round of the U11 ESCA Cup. The cup match proved to be a fantastic start to the season, with Blue Coat securing an impressive 16-run victory in an exciting pairs cricket contest. The win was built upon a disciplined bowling performance from the whole team, with Reuben and Zane taking key wickets at crucial moments to restrict the opposition’s scoring.
Chasing a competitive total, Adam and Riyan batted superbly, showing confidence, intelligent running between the wickets, and composure under pressure to guide the team to victory. One of the fixtures at The Blue Coat School was played using a hardball format and resulted in another excellent win for Blue Coat. Seb played outstandingly with the bat, striking the ball confidently and helping the team build a strong total, while accurate and disciplined bowling from Arnav and Peter kept the Solihull Prep batting line-up under pressure throughout and enabled Blue Coat to secure a comfortable victory.
Across all five matches, the players demonstrated excellent teamwork, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship, representing the school superbly throughout the series against strong opposition from Solihull Prep School.
U11 Cricket v Warwickshire

Result: BCS win
The U11 girls enjoyed a very busy and exciting afternoon as they played their second match of the day, this time facing the Warwickshire County Cricket Club Women Development Squad in an 11 aside fixture. Having won the toss, the girls chose to field and made an excellent start with some superb bowling that produced early wickets and immediately put the opposition under pressure.
Tight fielding, strong backing up and excellent teamwork ensured Warwickshire’s scoring opportunities were limited throughout the innings. Wickets were shared across the team, with Ree taking two, while Jaiya, Emily, Ishi, Adeline and Eloise all contributed with a wicket each. In reply, Emily and Ree gave the innings a flying start, both batting confidently to retirement. Positive running between the wickets kept the scoreboard moving, while Eloise and Jaiya continued the momentum with composed batting displays. The girls played with great energy and confidence throughout and deservedly secured a comfortable victory.
U11 Cricket v King’s Hawford

The U11 girls produced an excellent performance in their first cricket fixture of the season against King’s Hawford, proudly wearing their new cricket strip for the very first time. Playing an 8 aside pairs hard ball match on the Front Square, the girls won the toss and elected to field.
King’s Hawford started strongly with several confident batters, but disciplined bowling and sharp fielding from the Blue Coat side ensured the scoring remained under control throughout the innings. Wickets were claimed by Ishi, Sukmani and Ree, all of whom bowled with great composure and accuracy.
The game remained incredibly close and came down to the final two overs, with Blue Coat still needing 21 runs for victory. Under pressure, Ree produced a superb batting display, striking two boundaries and a huge six to swing the match in our favour and secure a thrilling win. A fantastic team effort and an exciting way to begin the season.
U11 Cricket v WarwickshireÂ
The Blue Coat School U11s and Warwickshire CCC U10s produced a fantastic game of cricket with some excellent batting and bowling on show throughout in a great spectacle for everyone watching. Warwickshire CCC U10s batted first and posted an impressive 134 from their 20 overs thanks to some outstanding stroke play despite tight bowling from Samraj and Zane who both kept the scoring under control at important stages of the innings.
In reply, The Blue Coat School chased the target with two overs to spare following an excellent opening partnership between Adam and Riyan who added 87 for the first wicket at a run rate of 10 an over and gave the innings the perfect platform. Adam then continued to bat superbly after the stand was broken before eventually being dismissed for an excellent 44 as The Blue Coat School completed a memorable victory in style.
