Beneath brilliant blue skies, with the iconic stage of Shakespeare’s Globe bathed in sunshine, the scene was set for the Poetry by Heart Grand Finale: a celebration of spoken word featuring some of the country’s most talented young performers.
The first act of the day was our very own Zidaan. Stepping onto the famous stage and performing in front of an audience of over 300 people is no small feat, but he rose to the occasion magnificently. Competing in the Key Stage 2 Freestyle category, Zidaan delivered his performance with remarkable confidence, energy and expression. He had the audience laughing, clapping and cheering, captivating everyone from the very first line.
Throughout the day, pupils aged 7 to 19 took to the stage to perform an inspiring range of poetry, showcasing the power of words brought vividly to life. There was even a staff performance, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. As the winners were announced, the audience waited with bated breath. When Zidaan’s name was called as the winner of the Key Stage 2 Freestyle category, the theatre erupted with applause. It was a truly unforgettable moment and a richly deserved recognition of his outstanding performance.
An enormous congratulations to Zidaan on this fantastic achievement. His confidence, talent and stage presence made him a worthy winner, and we are incredibly proud of him.
