The Valley of Adventure by Enid Blyton

Review by William (3JO)

The Valley of Adventure is about four children called Jack,Philip,Dinah and Lucy-Ann. They go on a night flight but they go on the wrong aeroplane and end up in a valley with no idea where they are. They go out exploring and find some men with sinister plans. In the end, Philip escapes as a golden statue to get help and the children help capture the bad men.

I really enjoyed this book because it is about adventure and I really like adventures.I found it interesting because I like the bit when they find the treasure and met some old people. I especially liked it when they discovered all the treasure. I would recommend this to people who like adventure and mystery stories.

The Happy Prince and Other Stories by Oscar Wilde

Review by Isaac (4ED)

The book has five short stories. The first was about a swallow who said he was going to Egypt but he ended up staying to help the statue give his gold coating, a ruby from his sword and his two sapphire eyes. This helped the village people that were very in need of things especially money.

I liked that the happy prince was kind and the swallow was a good friend. The moral of the story is a friend in need is helped by a true friend.

I would recommend the book to book lovers of all ages.

Poppy Love Goes for Gold by Natasha May

Review by Mishika (5GT)

This book was about 2 girl and 2 boys and a dance teacher. They were going to perform, and were doing jazz. They wanted to get the gold. If you want to know if they got the gold or not, read the book and you will find out.

I liked it when they were excited and the all were counting down how many days were left until the big performance. I didn’t dislike any of the book and I never wanted to put it down. It was just so interesting.

I would definitely recommend it to people that love dancing, and you will never put it down. I will recommend this book to any age because it doesn’t have any violence and no bad things that happen, don’t forget to read it.

Ghost Boys by Jewell Rhodes Parker

Review by Izzah (6MT)

This book is about a boy called Jerome and his story before being shot by police officers. It talks about other about the story of another boy being killed unfairly because of racism.

I liked this book because it shows how much racism can feel to people.

I would recommend it to 10 and up and for everyone because it shows how unfair and horrible racism can get if people don’t stop.
