U9 Netball TournamentÂ
Result: 8-0 BCS win, 2-2 draw, 11-0 BCS win, 10-0 BCS win
Players of the Match: Whole Team
Our U9s had a fantastic netball tournament at RGS. Topping their group in the pool stages without losing a game. They ended up finishing runners in the final to Winterfold after extra time and then golden goal! Such a close game, the result could have gone either way.Â
The girls should be extremely proud of their performance and improved each game, well done girls!
U11 Netball v RGSÂ
Home Fixture Result: 5-0 RGS win
Player of the Match: DestineeÂ
A very even game in the first quarter with BCS only conceding 1 goal and missed several chances to be level. With the change of positions in the following quarter saw RGS dominate and scored 3 more goals. The final two quarters were very even, BCS had many chances but the ball just kept rebounding off the hoop!
U11 Netball v RGSÂ
Home Fixture Result: 7-1 RGS winÂ
Player of the Match: MalihaÂ
This was quite an even match although the scoreline did not reflect this. With pupils getting into good spaces but not quite managing to score everytime we shot. With the team rotating positions the girls need to continue to practise their shooting as much as their throwing and catching.
U11 Netball v RGSÂ
Home Fixture Result: 9-3 BCS winÂ
Player of the Match: Shruti
This match started quite even however, the rotation of positions worked in our favour as team BCS started to dominate position as the match went on. Some impressive shots were scored by Malika, Navya and Shruti and some great intercepts made by Shruti also as the timing of her jumps has improved greatly.
U11 Football v RGS: The Grange
Player of the Match: NoahÂ
The Year 6’s had a great afternoon of football vs RGS The Grange. Every boy played and learnt a lot about teamwork and how to receive the ball against strong RGS sides. All the sides showed effort and determination but there is a need for many to work on their technical ability and awareness of others and the opposition. The A team however put in their best performance of the season running out comfortable winners.
U11 Netball v RGSÂ
Away Fixtures Results: 14-5 RGS win, 17-6 RGS win, 20-11 BCS win, 6-5 RGS win
With four fixtures away at RGS, the girls played their last fixture of the netball season.. There was a mix of results, but the girls showed how much progress they have made this term. A fantastic way to finish the season off! Well done all.Â
Now just the House matches to play! Good luck all.
U8 Netball v EversfieldÂ
Result: 5-0 BCS win, 10-0 BCS winÂ
Players of the Match: Arya and Lara
With a steady round of fixtures organised by Mrs Somerville, both teams looked confident on court as they moved into spaces to receive the ball. The defensive shadows would not leave their opponents side for a second which meant we turned the ball over a lot and gained many intercepts. As all pupils have been rotating positions, it was great to see nearly every pupil score a goal when in a shooting position. Well done to all the girls involved!
U11 Girls Football FestivalÂ
Result: BCS win every match they play
In the Birmingham Girls Football Festival, 9 schools arrived at Yardley Fives. The mixed age group of girls have made significant progress in their football skills this year and was observed as they went home unbeaten. Throughout the festival, they demonstrated exceptional abilities in tackling, passing, and shooting from long range. The whole team consistently exhibited excellent defensive techniques, winning possession and going on the attack. Their accurate passing skills and great teamwork enabled them to contribute to keep on the attack. Overall, everyone came away with a fabulous gold medal for all their hard work on what was a great start to International Women’s Day.
