Matilda by Roald Dahl

Review by Sophie (3ZN)

The book is about a girl called Matilda and she loves to read books but her parents are very mean to her so they put her in a VERY bad school with the meanest headmistress ever but she is very good and she knows a lot of math calculations. Mrs Trunchbull (the headmistress) make bad children go to CHOKEY.

I like the bit when Mr Wormwood calls Matilda a girl because he ALWAYS calls her a boy.

I would recommend it to people who like silly and funny books.

Ultimate Football Heroes: Haaland by Tom and Matt Oldfield

Review by Hari (4JL)

The book was about a football player named Haaland and he was an ultimate football hero and he plays for Manchester City and it is about him growing up, football and him playing football and once you start reading it you will become addicted to it.

I kind of disliked it because he is not the best player and he is not in the best club.

I would recommend it to all ages.

My Brother is a Superhero by David Solomons

Review by Kavan (5KA)

This book is about a boy called Luke who loves reading comics and would do anything to be a superhero. Him and his best friend Serge and a girl called Lara embark on a superhero saving quest saving two galaxies from a meteorite called NEMESIS. The other galaxy is similar to Earth except the people and sponge cake tastes different and you might be thinking how did Zack get his superpowers. In the other galaxy there was a person called Zorbon The Decider and he decided that Zack should have the superpowers. It all started with him and his brother, Zack chilling in their treehouse when Luke needs the toilet! He comes back and his brother says Luke I think I have superpowers! They choose a name for Zack and in the end they come up with a name of STAR LAD.

This is a book full of suspense and an evil villain called Christopher Talbot who captures STAR LAD and wants to transfer his superpowers into him but no, Luke and his gang save his brother and the two galaxies from NEMESIS.

I would recommend this book to 7 and above as some of the language is hard and the spider thing is scary!

Groosham Grange by Anthony Horowitz

Review by Reuben (6EF)

The book is about a boy called David. David has rich parents and after he got expelled from his school, they sent him to Groosham Grange. He discovers mysterious and unusual things and happenings. It depends on David to sort things out.

I enjoyed this book because the author uses language comically. My favourite character was Jill because she got out of her own way to help David.

I would recommend this book to people aged 10+. This book is a comedy and adventure book.
