Both schools demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout, creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere on and off the court. The combination of high-quality play, teamwork, and respect made for a fantastic afternoon of netball for players, coaches, and spectators alike.
U9 Football v RGS: The Grange and WarwickÂ
The U9s enjoyed a positive fixture against RGS: The Grange and Warwick Junior School, with all pupils successfully taking part across six games. Despite recent poor weather, conditions allowed for uninterrupted play and great enthusiasm throughout. The team showed excellent effort, teamwork and sportsmanship, with plenty of energy and smiles on display. It was pleasing to see every player involved, gaining valuable match experience and enjoyment from competitive football. A well-organised and enjoyable morning of football for all involved.
U9 Netball v Eversfield
The U9 netball teams hosted Eversfield in the Sports Hall for two highly encouraging matches, resulting in a pair of dominant wins for the home side. Both teams showed excellent enthusiasm and teamwork, with particularly strong shooting allowing the girls to convert their chances consistently. There was clear progress in moving the ball quickly down the court, with improved passing and support play helping to maintain momentum in attack. The girls worked hard to apply what they have been learning in lessons and should be proud of their efforts. As they continue to develop, the next focus will be driving forward more decisively to receive the ball and create even more attacking options.
U11 Netball v Warwick
Players of the Match: Annaliese and Anai
Result: 9-8 BCS, 3-9 BCS
Three BCS U11 girls’ teams travelled to Warwick for a fun-filled afternoon of netball, where they took part in a series of fast, furious, and highly competitive games. All players represented the school brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm, determination, and a real love for the game.
Across all three teams, BCS demonstrated excellent defensive strength, with players working hard to apply pressure, make interceptions, and support one another throughout the court. Communication and teamwork were clear to see, with girls encouraging each other and working together in both defence and transition play.
In attack, there were some promising moments, and this is an area we will continue to focus on in training. Developing our attacking circle work and working together more effectively in the circle will help us create clearer shooting opportunities and allow the ball to move confidently and efficiently into space.
Just as impressive as the netball on show was the sportsmanship displayed by all players. The girls showed respect to the opposition, umpires, and each other at all times, celebrating successes together and supporting teammates through challenges. Their positive attitudes and teamwork were a real credit to BCS.
The afternoon concluded with two wins and one very close loss. A fantastic effort from all the girls — well done, and keep up the great work!
